“Dogs die. But dogs live, too. Right up until they die, they live. They live brave, beautiful lives. They protect their families. And love us. And make our lives a little brighter. And they don’t waste time being afraid of tomorrow.”

03/24/2014 – 01/27/2024
How do you eulogize a dog that stood by you faithfully through the darkest times in your life? Words simply aren’t adequate to describe my relationship with Ethan. “My” dog from the moment he took his first breath, I had no idea the journey we were on together would end before his 10th birthday.
When cancer interrupted my life in 2019 Ethan’s handler, former professional handler Chris Ann Moore, stepped in to become his full-time handler. Highlights of his amazing time with Chris Ann include Best of Breed at Westminster under Bill Shelton, 4 all-breed BIS wins (his first two back-to-back under Cardigan breeder Deborah Anthony and Pembroke breeder Kristen Francis), and Best of Breed at the AKC National Championship. The highlight of Ethan’s time in the ring with me included winning the CWCCA National Specialty as well as the stud dog class under breeder judge Vivian Moran in 2017.
Ethan was so much more than just a show dog; he was my loyal companion. He fought valiantly to remain here on earth but in the end metastatic chondrosarcoma took him from me.
Hug your dogs. You never know how long you will have them.
Thank you E for sharing your life with me. You were the very best dog.
